The devil is actually in all of us
Let me explain
Deep inside, we have an urge
Sex, drugs, money, or even Fame
Many have others
More unsavory, more twisted
On their past traumas, they put the blame
In the Bible, he was hurled down to the earth
But what if?
What if what was really sent was he, she, they, us
The grandmaster of all sin
“Desire without care of consequences”
Thrusted deep in the roots of the earth
Then breed in each of us at birth
We lie, cheat, kill, steal, hurt
Cry, die and repeat
Inside each of us,
Young, old, infant or babe
Hides that inner demon
With our own name
That had done, thought or even may do
Ungodly deeds
The devil isn’t an entity
But lives in you and me.
